Comment: More local crafts from the NW. Less from far away places. Support local crafters like you support local farmers! --Christine Response: I would love to have more local goods on the shelves from our Inland Northwest bioregion, especially goods made from local resources. Sustainably harvested wooden serving spoons and bowls, and thick-walled mixing bowls and bakeware made from local clay if possible. Willow or red osier baskets, and clothing made from local wool would also be nice. If you know of artists who make long-lasting, quality goods from local resources at prices the majority of our community members can afford, send them my way. --K. Sequoia Ladd, Co-op mercantile buyer |

Comment: Please provide separate utensils for Bulk products that have allergens in them like the peanut pretzels. I would hate to unknowingly use something with peanut on it if I were allergic to peanuts while bagging something supposed to be free of peanuts! Especially since the coop is a place where people can buy safe food hard to find elsewhere for special Diets! -Margaret Response: That is a good suggestion but unfortunately its unenforceable. If the utensils were marked there is a strong chance they will be used in undesignated ways. There is no way for us to control that usage and it’s cost-prohibitive to monitor at all times. People with severe allergies should buy bagged foods that they know are safe. -Seth, Bulk Buyer Comment: I love how Moscow Food Co-op has only organic foods not greasy foods. I give this place 5 stars! -Mike |

Comment: Thanks for having a no plastic bag month. I would vote for it to be permanent. – Maryann Response: Maryann, we are so glad you appreciated our Bag It campaign in April. Our managers agreed with you, and they decided to eliminate plastic grocery bags at the registers in perpetuity! Yay Co-op!! – Carol Comment: As a re-usable bag user, I was disappointed to read paper/plastic bag users called “lazy.” Using supportive and educational language would better serve the changing of habits and building of community. – anonymous |

Comment: Please think about making the oatmeal raisin cookies again. Don’t understand why majority of available cookies are with chocolate. Response: The oatmeal raisin cookies are absolutely one of my favorites! We frequently struggle with fulfilling all of our customers’ cookie desires due to the limited space for cookies in the bins at the front registers and on the shelves. We are currently pursuing a new, larger cookie bin display that will hold more varieties at once. In the meantime, we have added Oatmeal Raisin cookies back to the production rotation. Have you tried the Sunflower Crinkles? They are another of my personal chocolate-free favorite. |
