The Moscow Food Co-op is proud to offer a new set of films for our Good Food Film Series this winter and spring. Please save the dates for these new documentaries: Feb. 15th: Back to the Garden Mar. 21st: Harvest/LaCosecha Apr. 18: The Economics of Happiness
All films will be shown on Wednesdays, at 7 pm, at the Kenworthy Performing Arts Centre, 508 S. Main, in downtown Moscow. Farmageddon tackles the issue of food regulation and food freedom and examines the reasons why is it so hard to find certain foods that we want to buy, such as raw milk. They were young, they were passionate, they were idealistic. Back then they were hippies. What are they now? Back to the Garden, by Washington State University alumnus Kevin Tomlinson, features a group of back-to-the-landers in Washington State, with coverage of their lives both during the 70s and now. Tomlinson will attend the screening as a special guest of the Co-op and will be available for discussion after the film. A great deal of the food grown and consumed in the U.S.A. is harvested by children. Harvest/La Cosecha considers: are cheap food prices worth sacrificing the lives of the most vulnerable among us?
