Here is a sample of some of our festive offerings.
This season. we are offering a variety of bread items that will hopefully bring that extra sparkle to your special meal. Throughout the course of November, we will be making a variety of stuffing mixes and croutons. We will also be introducing two new breads for the Thanksgiving season. The first will be a savory artisan loaf we are calling Stuffing Bread. It will consist of a few spices and herbs such as thyme and sage coupled with roasted potatoes and caramelized onions. The second bread being introduced is a new levain called Harvest Bread. Roasted apples and plump raisins will be the standout ingredients here. Underlying flavors of nutmeg and cinnamon will become more apparent as they dance across the palette. These seasonal specials will be added to our weekly bread schedule and available through special order. The pastry bakers will be using lots of pumpkin in the coming month. They will be making mini loaves of delicious pumpkin bread, which is great for breakfast or as a treat anytime of the day. Our always-popular cheesecake will be available in two more delicious options: pumpkin and eggnog. Cheesecake is available by the slice, or as a 4” or 6” mini cake. You can also special order a whole 8” or 10” cheesecake for any holiday event you might be participating in. And, of course, there will pumpkin pie! Look for mini and full-size pies as well as pies in other yummy fall flavors. This November, the Deli will bring back a few old favorites to our service case. We will be featuring Roasted Roots, a medley of deliciously seasoned root vegetables roasted to perfection. Another tasty favorite is Roasted Brussels Sprouts. These Brussels Sprouts are roasted with walnuts and tossed in a mustard vinaigrette. Last but not least, we’ll have our Winter Soba Salad. This salad is a perfect combination of noodles and veggies tossed together in red wine and honey vinaigrette. Right now, our café is offering some tasty autumn goodies for all to enjoy. For the little ones, I can’t think of anything better than a “Hot Caramel Apple Cider” to warm their tummies and hands from the chilly air. We steam R.W. Knudsen’s Cider ‘n Spice (can be found in Aisle 2) and stir in organic caramel syrup. Yum! To those of you who truly appreciate a good chai, I would suggest you try my current favorite, a “Pumpkin Pie Chai”. We steam Oregon Chai (also found in Aisle 2) with your choice of organic milk and then add a shot of pumpkin spice syrup to create a delectable treat. Don’t worry beloved espresso drinkers, I did not forget about you. For you we have a sweet and festive “Pumpkin Spice Latte.” Who could resist creamy organic steamed milk poured over rich organic espresso and a shot of pumpkin spice syrup? So come on in, take off your mittens, hold a nice warm cup between your cold fingers and enjoy something delicious from our café today! |
