The nights are getting darker earlier and we are at that time of the year when we look for warmth and light. When I first moved here from Colorado, the Idaho winters were most challenging and I found myself appreciating the Solstice date, with the promise of light returning, more than ever, but I also found myself appreciating the community of Moscow with its various celebrations and circles. Of course, part of the Moscow circle is the Moscow Food Co-op, and you can drop in any time for a warming drink and some cheer. And you can cheer us up too with your smiles! And don't forget, December 21 is not that far away!
It is November, and Thanksgiving is approaching. I would like to take the opportunity to express thanks to my front-end team. I have a wonderful crew. My assistants, Charlie, Elise, Sarah S and Bob are invaluable, enabling me to have days off from work with no work-related phone calls! Their cheerfulness and efficient ways are an asset to the store and the department. Christie and Bob join me in preparing the bank deposit daily, adding up lots of numbers and deciphering the cryptic notes left by cashiers. And the cashiers themselves are awesome, using both sides of their brains as they keep detailed reports while being gregarious and outgoing. To stay centered and friendly for eight hours on a busy Saturday is a huge achievement. Thank you everyone for all your hard work! And thank you, loyal customers! Without you, the Co-op wouldn't exist! Come in and see us, enjoy your home away from home, and before we all know it, the Spring flowers will be blooming! |
