July Dime in Time - Weekend Food for Kids.jpg

Weekend Food for Kids is an all-volunteer effort whose mission is to supplement the Moscow School District’s free summertime lunch program by providing food for weekends during summer to children living in food-insecure circumstances. In 2012, Moscow School District obtained a U.S. Department of Agriculture grant to provide free lunches Monday through Friday during the summer
for children up to the age of 18. Weekend Food for Kids (originally called Backpack Lunches) was started in 2014 by a group of volunteers at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Moscow to fill in the weekend gap.
