THE CO-OP BELIEVES IN healthy food for all
Not everyone can afford to make Fresh, Local, and Organic food major staples of their grocery budget. We thought long and hard about how to approach that problem, because after all, working together to nourish and nurture our community is The Co-op’s mission statement – and how can we be living up to that ideal if we aren’t working hard to nourish and nurture those members of our community who can’t always afford to shop here?
FLOWER is our answer to that problem – it’s an acronym that stands for Fresh, Local, and Organic, Within Everyone’s Reach. Participants in the FLOWER program receive a 10% discount at checkout for choosing to shop at The Moscow Food Co-op, making it easier for shoppers on a tight budget to meet their family’s nutritional needs. Please note that some items are not eligible for the FLOWER discount - and you can read about the program guidelines by clicking here.
The FLOWER discount is available to Owners of The Co-op who are currently receiving benefits from the following:
- Food Stamps/EBT
- TANF - Temporary Assistance for Needy Families
- WIC - Women, Infants, and Children (although The Co-op does not currently accept WIC checks as payment at this time due to legal restrictions in the program)
- Free School Lunch Program
If you qualify for any one of these benefits and you’re currently a Co-op Owner, then you qualify for the FLOWER discount. Apply today in the store by visiting the Customer Service desk, and we’ll take care of the rest. You can also download a copy of the application by clicking the button below.
We believe it isn’t enough just to provide the opportunity to buy good and healthy food – in order to truly serve our community and do our best to make a difference where we are, we have to go above and beyond for our Owners. Cooperatives only work when everyone benefits, so sign up today and start saving on every shopping trip!
The Moscow Food Co-op is committed to providing quality food and supplements to our entire community, and an important part of that priority is ensuring accessibility for the whole community. Every Tuesday, any owner age 55 and above will receive 10% off their purchase total. We're also excited to partner with Bookpeople of Moscow who also honors the Senior Tuesday discount.
Please note that this discount does not stack with other Co-op discounts like staff and Participating Owner discounts, or in-house coupons. Though, as always, all shoppers will receive the highest possible discount. Sale items are eligible, and manufacturer coupons are welcome.
The Moscow Food Co-op Wellness Department is proud to present Wellness Wednesdays, a celebration of healthy people, healthy lives, and a healthy planet!
On the first Wednesday of each month, Co-op owners receive a 10% discount on Wellness Department items, including supplements, body care items and mercantile like housewares, baby items, garden supplies, and greeting cards. Each event will also feature samples, coupons and information supporting our products.
While the Wellness Wednesday discount is available for Co-op owners only, any shopper who signs up for a membership or renews their expired membership will be eligible for the discount. Please note that this discount does not stack with other Co-op discounts like staff and Participating Owner discounts, or in-house coupons (shoppers will receive the highest possible discount). Sale items are eligible, and manufacturer coupons are welcome.
Students Save on Fridays
Forget the giant boxes of ramen! We believe that students having access to healthy organic and local food is extremely important. We've partnered with Bookpeople of Moscow to give all student owners a 10% discount on any and every purchase they make on Fridays. If you're a member, just show your Student ID to your cashier during checkout and they will apply the discount for you.
While this discount is available for Co-op owners only, any shopper who signs up for a membership or renews their expired membership will be eligible for the discount. Please note that this doesn't only apply to University of Idaho and Washington State University Students - owners who attend community college, or any other 4-year university program are eligible for the Student Discount. Please note that this discount does not stack with other Co-op discounts like staff and Participating Owner discounts, or in-house coupons (shoppers will receive the highest possible discount). Sale items are eligible, and manufacturer coupons are welcome.
Did you know that if the average person biked to work or shopping once every two weeks instead of driving, we could prevent close to one billion gallons of gasoline from entering the atmosphere every year?
Bicycle Benefits is a nationwide program through which businesses award discounts or incentives to patrons who show up on bike with their Bicycle Benefits helmet sticker. This new program allows the Co-op and other area businesses to reward bicyclists every time they ride their bike AND the program is designed to provide benefits to bicyclists wherever they travel around the entire country including Spokane, Coeur d’Alene, and Seattle so community members that purchase a sticker can reap rewards all over!
