The City of Moscow, Moscow Arts Commission, and Prichard Art Gallery invite you to participate in the sixth annual Palouse Plein Air.
What is Plein Air? French for “in the open air,” Plein Air is used to describe the act of painting outdoors. Plein Air competitions are all about painting outdoors in a specific area or region and then having those paintings exhibited in an art gallery.
The seven-day painting competition begins September 19 and runs through September 25. The competition is open to artists 18 years-of-age or older. All painting mediums are welcome. The entrance fee is $20 per participant or $15 per University of Idaho / Washington State University student participant. The entrance fee includes: registration in the competition, an invitation to the Artist Reception / Awards Ceremony on September 25, and an invitation to the One Day Sale on September 26.
To get started: Participants must paint on a stamped and dated painting surface. There is no limit to the number of painting surfaces that can be stamped.
