Company Profile: Honey Girl Organics

With this month’s article I invite you to take a virtual trip with me to the Hawaiian Islands to explore Honey Girl Organics.

Their products are handcrafted in small batches on Oahu’s North Shore. Most of their products’ ingredients (honey, beeswax, propolis, bee pollen and royal jelly) come right from bees they raise. Their hives are located in forested land allowing the bees to forage on a diversity of Hawaiian flora. All their products are organic with no parabens, glycerin, fragrances, hormones, silicones, petroleum products, artificial preservatives, fillers, emulsifiers, or additives.

Noting that everything we put on our skin will be absorbed into our body and blood stream, the company uses only food-grade ingredients. In addition to the beehive-derived ingredients, which are noted for their antibacterial and anti-inflammatory characteristics, they also use a variety of essential oils, and organic extra virgin olive oil because of its similarity to our skins’ natural oils and its antioxidant properties. When crafting their products, they keep the temperature low in order to ensure that all the beneficial qualities of the various ingredients remain intact.

Honey Girl Organics products are rated as extremely safe by the Environmental Working Group, ranging from 0 to 2 on EWG’s 10-point scale.

The Moscow Food Co-op carries 10 Honey Girl Organics products: Body Crème, Super Skin Food, Facial Scrub, Facial Toner, Rejuvenating Mask, Face & Eye Crème (both regular and sensitive skin varieties), Night Cream, Lip Balm, and After Sun Lotion. Honey Girl Organics
