Healthy Eating on a Budget

This series of classes provides a blend of information, recipes, and samples. You'll learn tips for saving money when shopping and cooking by utilizing staple ingredients found in the bulk section and getting creative in the kitchen! You will walk away with recipes, a booklet on saving when shopping at the Co-op, an understanding of how to read labels to get the biggest bang for your buck, and more! All samples and recipes provided are vegan-friendly, and recipes will be free of gluten-containing ingredients and the top 8 allergens. Special dietary needs may be accommodated with advanced notice. The next series will begin in Fall.
Please reserve your seat ahead of time by paying for your ticket at the Co-op! Samples will be prepared for everyone, so we want to make sure we have enough! Tell your cashier you'd like to pay for the Healthy Eating on a Budget class, and they'll add it to your current transaction! The fee is $3 for Co-op Owners, $5 if you're not an owner, and all fees will be refunded as Co-op Gift Cards at the end of class. The initial fee is waived for all participants in The Co-op's FLOWER program!

About the Instructor
Alice Ma is a Co-op volunteer and registered dietitian who will answer your questions about nutrition and food. Alice received her Master’s degree in nutrition and dietetics at the University of Utah. After spending a year serving as an AmeriCorps volunteer in Ellensburg, WA, she became a resident of Moscow and currently works at Washington State University as the Registered Dietitian for Dining Services. Alice is passionate about food, nutrition, and sustainability and is excited about being involved with the Moscow Food Co-op and local community.
