GAME DAY GAME PLAN: Buffalo Wings

According to the National Chicken Council, Americans will eat 1.25 billion chicken wings on Super Bowl Sunday. That’s. A. Lot. Of. Chicken. Wings. We want you to be prepared this weekend, so we’re equipping you with the Co-op’s wing recipe, sure to burn so good.

To make the Co-op’s wings you will need:
5 pounds chicken wings
1 cup unsalted butter
2 bottles Louisiana hot sauce
3 tablespoons paprika
4 teaspoons salt
4 teaspoons cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon black pepper
3 tablespoons white wine vinegar
1/4 cup ketchup
carrots and celery

Directions: Preheat oven to 425°. Create a marinade by stirring together the melted butter, hot sauce, vinegar, paprika, salt, cayenne and black pepper. Reserve 1/2 cup of the marinade. Place wings in a large mixing bowl. Pour all but the reserved marinade over the the top of the chicken. Let marinate at room temperature for half an hour. Place wings on a baking sheet and cook for 20-25 minutes, until the meat is tender and no longer pink. Remove from the oven. Combine reserved marinade with 1/4 cup of ketchup and baste the wings with a brush. Serve with carrots and celery and ranch or blue cheese dressing.
