Candidate Statement:
Lizzy Klinker
As a strategic consultant I bring a practical, community-centered approach to governance, grounded in strong listening skills, clear communication, and disciplined follow-through. In my work, I regularly translate complex information into clear options, align stakeholders with different priorities, and help groups move from discussion to decision. I have experience managing budgets and timelines, assessing risk, and building accountability systems that support sustainable results. I also have a collaborative and servant leadership style leading to the overall success of a team holding myself and those around me accountable.
I have developed these skills through my time as a team captain in sport, networks within work, and my day to day job leading work streams but maintaining focus and structure driven by the client and partners. I am comfortable reading financials, reviewing policies, and tracking KPI metrics, while keeping people and values at the center of the work. I believe an effective Director is prepared, curious, respectful, and committed to the long view.
The Moscow Food Co-op is vital the Moscow community, it supports local producers, improves access to healthy food, and strengthens the local economy. I want to serve because I believe in the cooperative model and I want to help protect and grow the Co-op’s mission through thoughtful governance. I am especially motivated to contribute to community engagement, local sourcing and the accessibility to local healthy goods for all who call Moscow home.
As a Director, I will focus on listening to members and staff, supporting a healthy partnership with management, and helping the Board make decisions that are transparent, value-aligned, and financially responsible.
