Health Benefits of Dandelion

Those pesky and prolific dandelions that seem to take over your yard every year are actually good for a whole host of health benefits.

ANTIOXIDANTS: Each part of the dandelion is rich in antioxidants, which help prevent damage to our cells and DNA, slowing down the aging process.

DIGESTION: A mild laxative, dandelions promote digestion, stimulate appetite, and balance the beneficial bacteria in the gut.

KIDNEY HEALTH: Dandelions are a powerful diuretic, helping the kidneys clear out waste, salt, and excess water. They also aid in urinary tract health.

LIVER HEALTH: Dandelions improve liver function by removing toxins and restoring electrolytes and hydration.

You can either make them into a tea or wine, use the leaves and flowers in salads, or blend them into smoothies and juices. Just be careful to use dandelions from a place where no pesticides have been sprayed and no animals have gotten to them (wink, wink).

If foraging for dandelions isn't your thing, take a look at the digestive bitters from Urban Moonshine.
